IPL Auction 2017: Cheteshwar Pujara Scored Quickest Hoping for comeback in upcoming edition
Pujara revealed his aggressive game after hit a six with a stunning hook. However, on Sunday, Pujara has been in impressive form across all formats. Although Cheteshwar Pujara has always been seen as a Test batsman who plays normal shots but the ongoing season and hopes that the perception will change.
Cheteshwar Pujara has played three times for different teams Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab and the last of his IPL matches came in the 2014 season. After that, he scored a century and fifty for Indian Oil, for whom he finished as the tournament’s leading run-getter.
His unbeaten 54 off 58 balls has shown he isn’t just a one-format player even if he has played more than double the amount of first-class matches as compared to T20s. With a strike rate of 93.10, Pujara has been in impressive form across all format and may get picked in the IPL Auction that will take place in Bengaluru on February 20.
“I am very hopeful the perception will go soon. I have got a T20 hundred in DY Patil tournament. I am batting freely and have added a few shots to my game which is helping me. Even in the Test format, I am striking the ball well. I have changed my game which is helping me in T20 and one-day games. In the near future, I think things will change.”
“When I went into bat, the idea was to score as many as runs as possible. We were looking at 150 to 200 runs on the board. We wanted to express ourselves. I was batting freely, I knew I will have to keep hitting the ball, and ultimately I am happy with the way things went.” Pujara said.
