New player for RPS squad Imran Tahir with replacement of injured Mitchell Marsh, IPL 2017
Bad luck for Austrailian pacer Mitchell Marsh. Selected in the squad for Rising Pune Supergiants he will not be able to play this season for IPL which is going to start on 5th April continue till May 21. The reason is the injury. At the same time, it’s good news for South Africa leg-spinner Imran Tahir who got the chance to play for IPL as replacement of Marsh.
On Thursday it was declared that Imran Tahir, the bowler who is ranking No 1 in ODI and T20 will go to play in IPL tournament with RPS. Imran Tahir already registered name in(RAPP) list. According to the player regulation, RPS has the rights to select any player from RAPP list if any overseas player not able to play in IPL tournament.
Earlier this month Mitchell Marsh got shoulder injured playing the second test against India in Bengaluru. The statement said by BCCI was the Australain player and all-rounder Mitchell Marsh will not be able to play the IPL 10th edition due to the shoulder injury. As for the replacement of Marsh, RPS picked up Imran Tahir the leg-spinner in their team.
Imran Tahir played for Delhi Daredevils in the last year 2016. This time although registered for the 10th edition of IPL he was not unsold. Good news for Tahir he will now play with the replacement of Marsh in IPL 2017.
