The Indian Players Who Played more IPL than International Matches

The gearing up for the beginning of IPL 2017, the players are ready to get into the battle of IPL matches. We can see the mix expressions of players as on one side they are happy to get selected to play for IPL 2017 on another side they are feeling pressurized too. With practice, hard work players are keen to give best and perform well for their teams. Getting back to the last IPL editions, there are the players who came up as stars of from IPL matches. Although they play for test and ODI matches, still they get their names on a top for their best performance in IPL. Here is the list of players from India who have played more IPL matches than international and test matches from India.


Parthiv Patel: Has firstly made debut for country scoring 1650 runs at the average of 27.96 in 2002. There is no other player on the list who made the first record for India. He has played the total of 63 international matches and 23 test coming back in 1st year. He has played the total of 103 matches in IPL for six different teams including Chennai Super King, Deccan Charges, Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrise Hyderabad and his current team Mumba Indians. As he played the total of 103 matches in IPL he has scored the total of 1927 runs at an average of 21.17.


Dinesh Karthik: The player who played a top number of IPL matches. Sometimes it’s not the right time or matches to play with. Dinesh Karthik was also on same track. Despite a good experience wicket-keeper, he has not got the chance as Indian Captain MS Dhoni was in form for wicket-keeper. Played the total of 103 matches including ODI’s and Test scores 1000 runs. In international cricket, he played the total of 103 matches scoring 2413 runs at the average rate of 27.11. In IPL he has played for 5 teams including Delhi Daredevils, Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers  Banglore and Gujarat Lions scoring the total of 2542 runs at the average of 23.75.


Yusuf Pathan: Yusuf Pathan is well known for his IPL titles, as one of the biggest IPL stars with two Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royal titles. He has represented India in 79 international matches apart from Robin Uthappa who represent India in Test matches. Yusuf has played his last international game in 2012. But in IPL he has played the total of 134 matches and remains regular for his side with KKR. He scored 1046 runs at the average of 24.32 in international and test matches. In IPL he has scored the total of three times more than international and test matches with good average rates. This is only the reason why he is still in demand in cricket at the age of 34.


Murali Vijay: Murali Vijay one of the consistency batsman of India have made impressive performance playing for Chennai Super Kings in IPL. He has played the total of 75 International matches as compare to IPL he has played the total of 100 matches for three different teams including Kings XI Punjab. Vijay has scored total of 3815 runs in International cricket at average rate of 35.32 and in IPL scored total of 2511 runs at average of 26.43.


Robin Uthappa: Robin Uttappa is well known to be one of the successful players of IPL. Although he has played 135 times in IPL making impressive records with 4 different teams in a tournament, but he has not represented his country in less than half of the matches. He had played the total of 13 T20Is and 46 ODI. The last  T20I played against Zimbabwe. He has scored the total of 3390 runs in IPL at the average of 30 whereas played 59 international cricket in which he has scored  1183 runs.


Amit Mishra: The unlucky player Amit Mishra although making his ODI debut in 2003, has only played 68 matches taking 156 wickets in India in all formats. For making the international debut he has to come over to India’s greatest spin bowlers Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble on another hand Ravichandran Ashwin was coming as shining star playing best of the cricket for fun. These are the reasons that Amit Mishra has played 68 matches with 36 ODI’s. He has the most international wickets of 76 in any format. As compare to IPL, numbers are even good. Played of Delhi Daredevils, Deccan Charges and Sunrise Hyderabad he has taken 124 wickets in 112 matches.


Praveen Kumar: Praveen Kumar with 84 international cricket mates taken out 112 wickets played in all formats. His career in ODI comes up with International cricket. He started and end with the match against Pakistan, where in last he scored the total of 68 ODI take 77 wickets. In IPL he played the total of 113 matches with 6 different teams including Sunrises Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab and currently playing for Gujarat Lions. Although played 113 matches in IPL close for getting centuries of wickets. He must play the good game in IPL 2017 to come into the list.
