IPL teams set to splurge Rs 143 crore at player auction Monday
On the player aution held in Benguluru today the franchises team with set to spend 143.3 crore for IPL 2017. English players including all-rounder Ben Stokes set to get the top billing. Chris Woakes and Eoin Morgan from New Zealand and other teammates set the hightest basic price of Rs 2 crore.
The other players in the race of big money includes Australian pacers Mitchell Johnson and Pat Cummins with Sri Lankan captian and all rounder Angelo Mathews with the basic price of Rs 2 crore. The Indian player with the basic price of 2 core will he Ishant Sharma the first Indian fast bowler to set the big amount.
Total of 351 players have to be selected in which 76 players will go under hammer including 28 overseas at auction on Monday. In this auction few players will atract heavy bids and the all-rounders are always favourite most in demands. English players are expected to be the flavour of the auction. Kings XI Punjab the runner up of of IPL 2016 edition have the most to spend with Rs 23.35 crore in their kitty, on other hand Mumbai Indians have the least spending power at just Rs 11.55 crore.
