Ishank Jaggi the latest entrant in IPL 2017 auction
Ishank Jaggi has become the latest entrant in IPL auction after playing a match winning innings to help East Zone clinch the T20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on Wednesday. The 28-year-old Ishank Jaggi was a lucky man on Saturday, as his name was drafted in the upcoming Indian Premier League auction which is going to be held in Bengaluru on Monday.
While this is not official confirmation yet Jaggi’s unbeaten knock of 51 against Central Zone together with a 51-ball 90 against South Zone has done most of the talking to his entry. He earns the strike rate of 155.78 with the average of 74 in three tournament games that may grab the interest of many potential franchises. With a couple of half centuries and low basic price of Rs 10 lakhs, this Jharkhand boy makes an easy path to got picked.
However, his last moment inclusion is not much of a surprise as in this season he amassed 890 runs in 10 Ranji Trophy matches at an average of 59.33 with four centuries to his name. Jaggi also had an enjoyable Ranji Trophy season as well, finishing as the highest run-getter.
Jaggi says “It was important on a personal level because I was disappointed last evening,” he had said after the IPL auction snub. “It has been a good season for me as I feel I have hit the peak. I have played so much of domestic cricket that I know all about it and want to graduate to the next level. That is why this knock was so important. It will help me move up to the next level.”
